“The Deadman” will be making his long-awaited return to the squared circle this month.

The Undertaker has been announced to make an appearance on the 900th episode of SmackDown Nov. 15 at Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. While it’s unlikely that he’ll appear at the following Sunday’s pay-per-view, it’s worth noting Undertaker’s return comes on the final SmackDown before Survivor Series on Nov. 20.

As is typical of his part-time role with the company, Undertaker has not been seen on WWE TV since WrestleMania 32 in April. He last faced Shane McMahon in a Hell in a Cell match that would determine whether McMahon would have control of Monday Night Raw. Undertaker won the match via pinfall.

Prior to the match at WrestleMania 32, the 51-year-old wrestler reignited a feud with fellow part-timer Brock Lesnar. Returning from a three-month absence after WrestleMania 31, Undertaker made an appearance at Backlash to help solidify his Survivor Series rematch with “The Beast Incarnate.” He wound up winning that match in controversial fashion, prompting the company to book another match between the two popular draws at Hell in a Cell in October 2015. Lesnar defeated “The Phenom” to — for the time being, anyway — end their feud with one another.

As noted, there is currently no word, nor any logical speculation that would suggest what Undertaker may be doing in his return to SmackDown later this month. Some believe it’s merely a way to promote the show’s 900th episode, while others suggest it could be the start to an angle leading to WrestleMania 33 in 2017.
