Wrestling insiders had reported months ago that Strong was headed to the WWE ranks, and most likely to be featured on the NXT brand.

Strong began his pro wrestling career over a decade ago in 2003.

Since then, he has most prominently been a mainstay for Ring of Honor as well as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla since his debut for that indie promotion in 2005.

He had a short run under the TNA banner from 2005 to 2006 but was released.

His last appearance for ROH took place on June 25 for a TV taping event, following the June 24 Best in the World PPV.

At PWG, Strong made his final appearance on July 29 for the thirteenth anniversary show, THIRTEEN, after being the top heel in the promotion for several years. Afterwards, he gave a farewell speech to close out the show.

Strong made his NXT debut, filing the spot of Austin Aries’ mystery partner for the current Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament taking place.

It is not the first time Strong and Aries have partnered together. The two were a tag team in the past called Generation Next for ROH, even having as run as the promotion’s tag team champions.

They defeated the opposing team in their first round match, sending them to the next bracket of the tournament.
