According to a report from Pro Wrestling Insider on Thursday, the WWE will welcome back a pair of former superstars to the company’s main roster sometime in the near future. While the most recent WWE brand split already took place on the inaugural SmackDown Live last Tuesday, former ECW and NWA Champion Rhyno and Brian “Curt Hawkins” Myers will reportedly each become a part of the post-draft SmackDown brand.
However, it is also worth noting that anything can change until the return of the pair of superstars is officially made public with an in-ring appearance — as is typically the case with sports entertainment.
Rhyno is currently in the ranks of NXT, where he is currently feuding with NXT champion Samoa Joe. Rhyno had previously made brief appearances on televised broadcasts alongside fellow ECW legends Tommy Dreamer and The Dudley Boyz. Even so, the brief stint alongside his former ECW acquaintances from December 2015 did not last very long despite the brand’s strong following from years past.
On the other hand, a former WWE tag team champion, Myers has most recently performed for TNA while also serving a stint at NXT between 2013 and 2014. While continuing to bounce around the professional wrestling circuit since formerly parting ways with the WWE, it seems as though the organization has come calling once again for Myers.
