WWE unveils new logos for Raw, SmackDown Live

It’s officially a new era in the World Wrestling Entertainment.

Just a few days removed from hosting its trajectory altering brand-extension draft, WWE has revealed new logos for both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. The new logos were shared on social media by the two men serving as general manager of Raw and SmackDown, Mick Foley and Daniel Bryan, respectively.

Raw has long been seen as the premier flagship show for WWE programming, though it didn’t come without the expense of its other weekly show, SmackDown. Plagued by its pre-taped nature, the WWE’s blue brand was often left without any sort of viable storyline progression – leaving all of the pivotal moments to be featured on Mondays.

That changed, however, after the company decided to move SmackDown’s air date back to Tuesday nights, now retaining all of the live-action qualities held by Monday Night Raw.

What’s more, the WWE also opted to split its roster up between the two brands – a move first introduced in 2002 and held through 2011.

Raw will now, in script, have the rights to Seth Rollins, Charlotte, Finn Balor, Brock Lesnar, The New Day, Sami Zayn, Sasha Banks and dozens of others.

SmackDown, meanwhile, will feature the likes of Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, John Cena, Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt, among others.

A few questions still remain regarding the WWE’s brand split, such as the circumstances surrounding the top championships in the company. There is currently no word on whether WWE will decide to create a new championship for each show, or if the top titleholders will merely roam in between programs.
